It includes new work by Jill Rolfe on Horsted Keynes' preparations for invasion which is a fascinating read and a detailed account of what may have been the grandest fete ever staged in the village,which includes many contemporary photos never published before. Finally there is a reprint of a well researched document on the iron Industry by Bryan Hale which was first published in 2001 and deserves to be read again in 2021.

Danehill Parish Historical Society was founded in 1972 with our first president being Dame Margery Corbett Ashby DBE (pictured in 1923).
The objectives of the society are to promote interest in, and the study of local history in particular, or any other historical matter of interest, bringing together local residents or other people to share and enjoy a range of social and informal activities.
