Danehill Stores: The May meeting was truly local with a trip back to 1970's Danehill. Goo Coomber told us about her parents who ran the shop at the time, when it seemed to sell a remarkable range of goods including clothing, shoes, DIY materials along with food and post office services. A memorable meeting and Goo also donated her speaker's fee to the Parkinson Society.

Danehill Parish Historical Society was founded in 1972 with our first president being Dame Margery Corbett Ashby DBE (pictured in 1923).
The objectives of the society are to promote interest in, and the study of local history in particular, or any other historical matter of interest, bringing together local residents or other people to share and enjoy a range of social and informal activities.
